Setelah 1 tahun yang lalu situs milik kevin mitnick yang beralamat di http://mitnicksecurity.com di deface oleh defacer, maka kemarin (21 oktober 2007) situs tersebut di ubah kembali tampilannya oleh defacer yang menyebut dirinya cyber terrorist.
Dengan meninggalkan pesan berupa gambar Homer simpson, disertai tulisan yang berisikan
OMG !! [y0] g0t OWNED ?!

Kevin mitnick merupakan salah satu "hacker" yang paling banyak di soroti media di akhir era 90-an. Saat situsnya di "deface" setahun yang lalu, ia pun hanya berkomentar bahwa yang dilakukan tersebut adalah sesuatu hal bodoh dan hanya untuk menarik perhatian. Selain itu, dia menambahkan bahwa dia tidak akan melakukan hal tersebut yang hanya mengumumkan keberadaannya, tetapi akan tetap tidak terdeteksi, untuk dapat terus bereksplorasi lebih jauh dengan system , dengan tujuan "curiosity"
Seperti setahun yang lalu, aksi ini telah di mirror oleh zone-h, kemungkinan pendeface sendiri yang mendaftarkan hasil defacenya.
Kejadian tahun lalu itupun sempat menjadi sorotan khusus dalam salah satu artikel phrack yang berjudul A brief history of the Underground scene, artikel ini menuliskan tentang keprihatinan yang timbul akibat banyaknya ketidaktahuan para new comer tentang kilasan sejarah di dunia underground, berikut adalah petikan artikel tersebut yang sedikit mengulas tentang di "deface"nya situs kevin.
It's exactly the same kind of story with the most famous hacker in the world: Kevin Mitnick. This guy really was amazing and I have a total respect for what he did. I don't want to argue about his present activity, it's his choice and we have to respect it. But nowadays, when new hackers talk about Kevin Mitnick, one of the first things I hear is : "Kevin is lame. Look, we have defaced his website, we are much better than him". This is completely stupid. They have probably found a stupid web bug to deface his website and they probably found the way to exploit the vulnerability in a book like Hacking Web Exposed. And after reading this book and defacing Kevin's website, they claim that Kevin is lame and that they are the best hackers in the world... Where are we going? If these hackers could do a third of what Kevin did, they would be considered heroes in the Underground community.
